Jao Village

Setari is the perfect place from which to immerse yourself in this extraordinary wilderness. Being where it is, the camp has year round water surrounding the island and activities at camp are all designed to give our guest the ultimate Okavango experience.

Experience Jao Village

Our airstrip is located on the beautiful and remote Jao Village, a small and isolated island with approximately 400 inhabitants. We offer the opportunity to go and visit the villagers and to see their fascinating way of life.

In a nutshell:

  • A 30 minute boat ride from camp and a chance to meet the villagers at Jao Island

  • A short walk around the Island

  • When possible, a chance to talk to the ladies of the village about their basket making
